Growing up, Growing Needs

Youth Classes

Our Youth Classes have been designed for 11-14 year olds. At an age when kids and parents have real concerns about safety, independence, and personal development, we’ve focused our curriculum to address the needs of this unique group.

Youth Classes have a more advanced curriculum than our Kids Classes with more complex techniques, randori (controlled flow practice), conditioning, and character building. Students who are 15 and over move into the Adult Classes.

The first class is free, so there’s no risk. We know that kids are very busy at this age, so we want to make sure they’re making the best use of their time in our classes! They’ll be challenged, they’ll learn, and they’ll have fun.

And for those adults who have always wanted to learn the ninja and samurai arts, we have adult classes for you!

Muzosa Youth Classes are open to all kids 11-15 years old. They learn real martial arts, at a faster pace than the Kids Class. There’s more hands-on work, and the games and skills are more demanding.

The students are regularly tested on their skills. At the same time, they develop a real sense of camaraderie by virtue of their age and life experience. It’s a real pleasure for them to train and and play around  in our enormous space with a wonderful 30’x30′ mat.

We recognize this is a difficult time for students at this age, so we offer a safe space for them to relax with their peers while learning valuable life skills.
